Back to School Community Rally:
D.R.E.A.M. Alive donated book bags and Reebok tennis shoes to IPS students
at the annual IPS Back to School Carnival that was held at Julian
Coleman Academy. Since 2001, D.R.E.A.M. Alive has distributed over 5000
book bags and school supplies to Indianapolis students. Click here to view

ISTEP Prep Rally:
D.R.E.A.M. Alive sponsored a “prep” rally for all of the students and staff of
D.R.E.A.M. Alive, as students prepared for the Fall administration of the
ISTEP + exam, an annual exam that tests student’s yearly progress in core
subjects. Students and staff were treated to motivational words of wisdom
from D.R.E.A.M Alive co-founders, Tarik & Maya Glenn. In addition, The
Indianapolis Colts were generous enough to partner with D.R.E.A.M. Alive and
supplied “BLUE” the mascot and several Colt’s cheerleaders. Silicone wristbands
with the slogan: “ISTEP”: I Succeed Today and Everyday on Purpose!”,
were supplied to students and staff as well. Click here to view pictures from
the event.
Ben & Ari’s “Community Tailgate Party”
D.R.E.A.M. Alive sponsored a “Community Tailgate Party” at Ben & Ari’s on
Oct. 5th. D.R.E.A.M. Alive staff, students, volunteers, supporters, and community
members got together and watched the Indianapolis Colts defeat the
Houston Texans. All participants had fun and D.R.E.A.M. Alive looks forward
to hosting the event next year. Click here to view pictures from the event.
Christmas Adopt-a-Family Program
Each year, D.R.E.A.M. Alive organizes a Christmas Adopt-a-Family program for families whose students either attend Shortridge Middle School or The Oaks Academy. The purpose of the Christmas Adopt-a-Family Program is to help the selected families provide gifts to their families during the holiday season. In 2008, we were able to adopt 20 families and provide them with Christmas Dinner and gifts. The program would not have been a success without the financial support of faithful D.R.E.A.M. Alive donors and local business and families that adopted several families for the program. Click here to volunteer for the event.
