Academic Assistance Program:
The Academic Assistance Program focuses on the academic achievement of each D.R.E.A.M. Alive scholar involved in daily programming. As each scholar needs to demonstrate proficiency in the core subject areas of English, Math, Science, and Social Studies, site directors and volunteers provide tutoring assistance on scheduled days. D.R.E.A.M. Alive programming directly addresses the two overarching goals of increasing academic achievement and providing scholars with qualified volunteers to help increase each scholars academic attainment levels.
The Y.E.S. Program:
Focusing on Youth Engaging in Service (Y.E.S.), this service-learning program centers around students improving academic learning and developing personal skills through structured service projects that meet a myriad of community needs. Service learning builds upon students' service activities by providing them with the opportunity to learn by preparing, leading and reflecting upon their service experiences. While adults help facilitate and assist in some implementation of the various student selected events/programs/activities, scholars have the primary responsibility of making sure they understand the needs and fulfill the needs of their community.
The G.O.L.D. Mentoring Program:
D.R.E.A.M. Alive staff, volunteers, and mentors implement various curriculum components that help promote social, professional, and character development. In collaboration with Indianapolis Public Schools and a host of community leaders and stakeholders, students are afforded the opportunity to increase their overall awareness and learn about different career fields.
