Youth Program Purpose Statement
Our Youth Program exists to EQUIP youth to become civic-minded leaders; DISCOVERING their community, GROWING in Character, and ACHIEVING their DREAMS.
Program Summary
Located in Indianapolis, Indiana, D.R.E.A.M. Alive engages youth from 7th through 12th grade to develop civic-minded leaders. Holistic mentoring and service-learning foster opportunities that allow youth to discover their community, grow in character, and achieve academically. It is in this intentional environment that leaders are developed.
Our scholars meet consistently after school. Each student is provided with the tools necessary to achieve individualized academic and personal goals. For their academic goals this takes place through tutoring and providing the resources needed to equip them for success. Their personal goals are realized through individual mentoring, service learning opportunities, and surrounding them with advocates from the community at large. Because relationships are foundational to our strategy, we highly value the element of time in this process. Consistent relationships of high integrity, over a longer period of time coupled with our curriculum produces the fruits of success and the characteristics of leadership in these scholars’ lives.
