Indianapolis, IN (February 25, 2026) – Last Wednesday, the halls of the Elements Financial Club at Victory Field buzzed with an electric energy as 150 passionate supporters, mentors, community leaders, and friends gathered for DREAM Alive’s 2nd Annual DREAM Makers Luncheon. As an organization dedicated to breaking the cycle of poverty through seven years of intentional mentorship and career development for Indianapolis youth starting in 6th grade, this event was more than a gathering—it was a powerful testament to the transformative impact we’re making together. From heartfelt scholar stories to calls for collective action, the luncheon reminded us all why DREAM Alive exists: to empower scholars to dream bigger, achieve more, and step into brighter futures.

The afternoon featured inspiring testimonies from three remarkable DREAM Alive scholars—Yarelli (8th grade), Luis (11th grade), and Adriana (alumna)—who shared how the program has positively shaped their lives and paths forward. We also heard from school partners about the invaluable role DREAM Alive plays in their buildings, providing consistent, on-site support that strengthens the entire educational ecosystem. Local business leaders discussed exciting opportunities for companies to get involved, from hosting career days to integrating volunteers into our programming—bringing meaningful impact right to their doorsteps. We celebrated the enduring legacy of DREAM Alive co-founder Tarik Glenn, the former Indianapolis Colts offensive lineman and Super Bowl champion who, alongside his wife Maya, launched this organization 25 years ago.

A highlight of the event was a touching video featuring Stephanie, another DREAM Alive alumna, who shared her powerful journey through DA. Her story underscored the ripple effects of our work: not just changing individual lives, but strengthening families and communities by increasing employment, education, and wealth-building opportunities.

Of course, the luncheon culminated in what DREAM Alive does best: rallying our community to invest in the future. We’re on a mission to raise $200,000 this year—the amount needed to fully fund our programs at two school sites, ensuring more scholars in center township Indianapolis receive the mentorship and resources they deserve. Thanks to the incredible generosity shown at the event, we’re already at $127,000! And here’s where the momentum builds: every dollar given toward the next $25,000 will be matched, doubling your impact and getting us even closer to our goal.
